From Shed to Second Generation – The Story Behind PSS

At PSS everything revolves around precision. But behind that precision lies a story that goes beyond machines and microns. A story of perseverance, trust, and family.

It all began in 1986. Leo Pol decided to turn his passion for metalworking into his own business. He started in a sealed-off carport, working under contract with machines and jobs from others. But soon after, a crisis hit. Customers were scarce, and work was hard to come by—but Leo and his wife Ine were determined to make it a success, a trait that would define the years to come.

Because of that event, steps had to be taken quickly to become really independent. Because the company existed for less than a year, financing at a bank was difficult. Ine nevertheless fully supported it, and with the help of family and a third party, Leo was able to buy a grinding machine and the adventure really started.

In this period Ine Pol, his wife, went through the house full containers, because there was literally no other way along the machines. Their house had become a workshop, office and of course their private domain at the same time.

Ine, originally set on a career in healthcare, grew into her role as the backbone of the business. Whether she was heavily pregnant at the lathe or poring over paperwork in the living room with a headache, she was always there. Always.

That never changed. In times of prosperity, they enjoyed wonderful trips together, and in tougher times, they faced challenges as a team. Leo led the way, but always with Ine as his steadfast support—a strong foundation for PSS’s enduring success.

Years later, their daughter Veronique and son Remco joined the company. Veronique consciously chose to stay close to her father, despite her interest in archaeology. Remco started working with milling, turning, and wire EDM at a young age, growing into a skilled planner and problem-solver within the company.

Today, Leo, Ine, Remco, and Veronique form the heart of PSS. They carry the same down-to-earth dedication and love for the craft as they did in 1986.

And the most remarkable part of their collaboration? They didn’t do it alone—they always had their dogs by their side. This reflects the warmth of a family business that operates globally but has always stayed grounded with the same Brabant pragmatism.
